A big thank you to Priscilla Jones - Mixed Media Artist extraordinaire - for running her wonderful "Make an Embroidered Canvas" workshop on 22nd Oct 2011.

Hallam members of the SDC Exhibition - showing for just 13 days!

Our next exhibition promises to be a visual treat for all of you who love contemporary crafts and design. Exhibition dates 1st - 13th Nov 2011

Showcasing local members of this national group, the Hallam members of the Society of Designer Craftsmen will be offering you the chance to "Shop within a Show". An Exhibition at The Beetroot Tree showcasing designer crafts, art and jewellery at affordable prices. A range of mediums will be shown including Textiles, Fused Glass, Ceramics, Print, Wire and Silver Jewellery.

The Society has a mission statement which is to "promote and support the work of creative thinkers, designers and makers who continue to innovate in the crafts through their exploration of materials and skills." (taken from http://www.societyofdesignercraftsmen.org.uk/about.html)

Featured artists include Marion  Anniss, Lucy Coyne, Stevie Davies, Sandra Goddard, Jacqueline  James,  Sue  Lancaster, Kerry Mosley, Helen  Neale, Deborah Newbould, Jeanette  Slingsby, Vicky Tansley, Eileen Wilding, Fiona Wilson and  Janet Zaccaria.

Bottle Tops Memories

Wow, what a wonderful Try It Workshop we had this morning.  A great time was had by all 12 participants on this fully booked session so due to popular demand The Beetroot Tree will be running "Bottle Top Memories" again on Monday 5th September, 1:30pm to 3:30pm so why not book your place and come and get creative. This mini workshop was designed to coincide with our Main Gallery Exhibition "Memory" which ends on 11th September.
